It’s time for the One Room Challenge again. I started participating as a guest participant five years ago when we moved from Virginia to Texas and had a brand new home that needed lots of decorating. With the motivation of the ORC, I finished my Master Bedroom, My Office, My Daughter’s Room, Our Guest Room, Our Family Room, and our Media Room. Last fall I started another ORC to work on the room my parents stay in when they visit us, but halfway through, my husband accepted a job offer in Virginia, and so I quit decorating and started packing. Now, we are in our new home with lots of rooms that need love. I’ve decided to tackle our Master Bathroom. When we were house hunting, it looked like this:
It’s basically a very dirty blank canvas. First I’m going to address the dirty, white walls. I’d like to do a beautiful wall treatment like in these two photos:
I did something similar in a previous ORC and I was very pleased with the results:
In addition I want to:
- Add curtains on the window over the tub
- Add a shade in the water closet
- Replace the shower enclosure
- Organize all the cabinets
- Replace or redo the sconces
- Replace or dress up the mirrors
- Change out the cabinet hardware
- New rugs
- Whatever else I have time for…
You can see the other designers’ ORC work here and here. Check in next week when I hope to have planned and started my decorative wall treatment.
