Master Bathroom Week #3: High Point Highlights and Minimal Progress

ORC-Gold-4oow

This is the third week of the six week One Room Challenge, and I’m a little behind.  I just got home last night from High Point Furniture Market, and I had such a good time.  Here are a few pics of my favorite things I saw at market:

You can catch up on my progress so far here and here.  I mentioned last week that the bathroom is shades of beige and white with travertine looking tile and white cabinets and walls.  I’m keeping the walls neutral too by painting them in Benjamin Moore’s Edgecomb Gray (HC-173) and adding a design in Benjamin Moore’s Glacier White (AC-40).  In addition to this very neutral background, I want to add pops of color to give the room some personality.  My Master Bedroom has a color scheme of lavender and yellow.  I want to bring those colors into this space too.  Here’s how my Master Bedroom looked in our last home after I did it for my first ORC:

I’m reusing most of what’s pictured above in our new Master Bedroom.  (By the way, I may use the two mirrors on either side of the bed in my new Master Bathroom.)  I want the yellows and purples to make an appearance in the bathroom too.  One way I want to do this is through rugs.  Years ago I bought a small Turkish rug on ebay and it’s been in my Powder Room in multiple houses ever since.  Here’s a picture of it in our newest Powder Room:

We just had the marble floor installed so I haven’t installed the shoe mold yet.  But other than that, this room is pretty much done.  I thought I should get a couple of rugs like this for my Master Bathroom.  I searched on ebay for small Oushak rugs, and I found a ton of options.  I narrowed it to these:

I bid on two of these rugs and won!  They are supposed to arrive from Turkey around the end of October.  It’s cutting it close!  I hope they are here for the reveal!

Another way I’m going to bring the yellow and lavender color scheme into this space is through the window treatments.  I’m going to work on those this week and post about it next Thursday!  Please check out the other ORC posts here and here.
