It’s week two of the One Room Challenge. I’m linking in to show my progress on the design of the soon to be ours lake-view townhouse. Here’s my blog from week one. We are buying the townhouse as an investment property and hope to rent it out furnished as an executive/vacation rental. Since we don’t own the townhouse yet, this is proving to be quite a challenge. I measured all the main spaces during the inspection, and I’ve drawn up plans. Below are my plans for the three major spaces:
We moved to Texas in February from Virginia. In Virginia we had a giant walkout basement with a bedroom, bathroom, media room, etc. Our house in Texas is smaller, so my hope is to reuse as much furniture, fabrics, and accessories as possible that we have on hand (or in garage, actually.) I think the whole purpose of buying this investment property is so I’ll clean out the garage, and my husband can park his car in there.
So next week I’ll hopefully show you some updates to the existing furniture pieces and also reveal some very budget-friendly projects my talented daughter and I are doing to add lots of art to the townhouse’s bare walls.
To see all the super creative projects posted on the One Room Challenge, go here. Every Wednesday this group of designers and bloggers post their progress on their projects:
Then on Thursdays, the linker’s post. It’s all very creative and fun! Check it out here! And come back next week for more on the townhouse.

this is great! I love the idea of an executive rental and a very stylish one at that. We just renovated a rental property this summer but it didn’t get to include the furnishing of it. Can’t wait to see what comes next! xoxo
I would love to have a lake-view home. Good luck.
Wow…you have a big project on your hands and in only 6 short weeks! Bravo!!! Excited to check back next week!
I love, love the horizontal striped coral curtains! You are going to have a beautiful townhouse!

I bet it is quite a challenge not being in the space! But it looks like you have great plans laid out for your spaces.I saved the same image of those green curtains for my home as well. Stunning!
